WHAT IS BUFO ALVARIUS?
Bufo Alvarius is a species of toad native to the Sonoran Desert that produces a unique secretion containing 5-MeO-DMT, known to be one of the most powerful naturally occurring psychedelic compounds today.
Now it is more commonly referred to as the Colorado River Toad or the Sonoran Desert Toad.

Though 5-MeO-DMT itself has been used for thousands of years across Indigenous tribes of Northern Mexico and parts of South America, the chemical compound in the Toad secretions was only discovered in 1965.
Chemists studying tryptamine compounds had been synthesizing it in laboratories for almost 30 years prior to that.
Unlike Ayahuasca, which is known for thousands of years of shamanic rituals, Bufo doesn’t have such ancient roots in tradition.
And although there are other plants with both naturally occurring dimethyltryptamines (5-MeO-DMT and 5-HO-DMT) like Bufo, the Toad is by far humanity's most special psychedelic discovery, in my personal opinion.
However, the psychedelic potential of these secretions was only popularized in 1984.
Because, unlike the other 5-MeO-DMT and 5-HO-DMT substances (that you can smoke, drink, or have blown up your nose like Yopo), only Bufo can obliterate your ego, and take you straight to Nirvana in 30 seconds and show you who you really are.
The modern use of Bufo as a psycho-spiritual sacrament in ceremonies only started in the mid 80's. And though today a big percentage of the world's population knows DMT, there are very few who know of Bufo or have an opportunity to experience it.
WHAT IS DMT and HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM 5-MEO-DMT?

Endogenous DMT, is naturally produced in plants and mammals, with evidence showing its synthesis and presence in the human brain and body tissues.
DMT (N,N-Dimethyltryptamine) is a naturally occurring psychedelic tryptamine. As are 5-MeO-DMT, Bufotenin (5-HO-DMT), Psilocin, Psilocybin, and many other less commonly known.
"Tryptamine" refers to a broad class of compounds that share a common molecular structure derived from the amino acid tryptophan. Not all tryptamines are psychedelic. Many biologically important molecules belong to this family, like Serotonin and Melatonin.
Since DMT and 5-MeO-DMT appear to be practically the same molecule, to understand and respect the difference you must experience smoking the two, to realize they are almost nothing alike.
Obviously, there are similarities, such as both trips are quite intense and will last anywhere between 15-30 minutes, with unique individual cases lasting up to over an hour.
DMT
In either trip, you inhale the vapor of the burning crystals and by the time you breathe out, your consciousness will be blasted out of your body. It's almost instant.
The experience with DMT is you get blasted out to an infinite amount of different realms (realities, dimensions, simulations), and you don't choose where you end up. These are not just visuals.
Wherever you do end up, it will be more real, more colorful, and sharper than this reality. You will be hearing sounds you've never heard before. You can open your eyes, or have them closed... doesn't matter, you won't be seeing through them for the first three-five minutes. You're gone.
These are just a few confirmations, you're not hallucinating. There will be no room for doubt that your consciousness must have travelled to another space with no time in between. It will blow your fucking socks off. Anything you think you know about what you see here in this reality isn't what you think at all.

I encourage you to try any psychedelic for that matter... but DMT and 5-MeO-DMT will make you realize you don't know anything at all. Even the things that you once thought were a proven fact.
Integration after DMT (in my personal opinion, from about a dozen trips) is quite uneasy. Mainly because the experience itself doesn't inspire much introspection, due to no immediate practical realizations.
There's more confusion than clarity.
5-MeO-DMT
You're out of body for about three minutes, but it feels like a lifetime, and you're out exploring insane worlds, teleporting and meeting other entities.
For these reasons, DMT was known as the "businessman's trip" during the 1960s in the States. A user could access the full depth of a psychedelic experience in a tenth of the time it would take with LSD (or a 6th of the time with psilocybin mushrooms or Ayahuasca), making it the perfect escape on a thirty-minute lunch break for the office rat married to their career.
Bufo, as an experience, will also blow your socks off, but in a less colorful, less visual sort of way. With Bufo, you won't be traveling to different realms or dimensions. It's an experience of pure consciousness itself.
When you come back into your body, the lingering effects remain for another 10-20 minutes, and then you're back to as if nothing ever happened.
Rather than showing you something, it will instead obliterate your entire reality.

There are no realities or dimensions. For the three - five minutes you're out, you go beyond everything in existence.
The best way I can describe Bufo, based on my own 30+ experiences, is that I open my eyes from the center of every atom across the universe.
Ego death becomes inevitable because your consciousness simply dissolves into Source.
I become everything, and nothing physical exists.
I experience the undeniable connectedness of everything across the universe, and I know without doubt there is no separation between the Creator and its creation.
I can confidently assume you will have a similar experience with the same realizations.
It's the one and only psychedelic tool known to us today that guarantees your experience will be similar to everyone else who does it.
This is why Bufo is so special.
I use the word "similar" very loosely because, from the outside, every person will have a completely different ceremony. The way the person goes through acceptance in their process can differ significantly from person to person. As far as the inner experience, the "space" will be identical.
IS BUFO FOR EVERYONE?
I personally don't believe that psychedelics are for everyone. If you have a strong desire to explore these tools, then don't deny yourself that experience. However, if you don't feel that strong pull of your intuition, then stay away from them.

Bufo, however, though known to be the strongest psychedelic on Earth at this time, could really work for everyone who is searching for the Truth of reality.
Unlike other psychedelics, which construct worlds of experience by inducing intricate visuals, 5-MeO-DMT is unique because of its ability to strip away all sensory and mental content.
5-MeO-DMT plunges you into a state of void, non-duality, or pure awareness, where the sense of self, time, and space completely vanish while consciousness remains somewhat awake.
Because of this, an experience with Bufo would greatly benefit anyone and everyone. Of course, some would need to prepare before hand, if they have a daily practice of consuming alcohol, pharmaceuticals, street drugs, etc. they should stop at least two weeks beforehand.
Or if they have a very chaotic mind, the preparation would be to practice meditation until the fluctuations of the mind become steadier. A few weeks of consistent meditation will significantly improve the fluctuations and noise in your mind.
Bufo can greatly benefit you if you're someone who has been doing the inner mental work and wants confirmation that it's not all been for granted. You will receive so much lucidity.
Especially if you're coming from a religious background of indoctrination, Bufo can tremendously help you heal and move forward in the deconstruction of the religious traps you might be completely unaware of.
If you're someone searching for the realness of life, this experience can give you profound insight into how to manifest it.
But again, like with any psychedelic, it's your inner desire that should be heard and respected first and foremost.

LIFE AFTER BUFO : INTEGRATION & PRACTICAL TOOLS

The real work happens outside of ceremony.
Perhaps you have heard this before. As well as, "Integration after your psychedelic journey is the most important part."
But what does that mean?
First and foremost, psychedelics are powerful instruments that should never be consumed without a properly rooted intention.
Too many misunderstand what it means to have reverence and respect for these tools, and they mistake ritual and show for devotion.
But true reverence and respect are found in every movement of your daily life. Dieting a week in advance for your ayahuasca ceremony while walking in resentment, jealousy, or anger isn't self-respect, nor is that showing reverence... that's hypocrisy. You're deceiving yourself.
If you don't walk every day through life with integrity, kindness, purpose, and in love with your life, then this is what your intention must be rooted in. Otherwise, you've missed the plot.
"I Am commited to walk in Truth. I walk forward, being honest with myself in every aspect of my life. I breathe love, joy, and peace. I am free. I create freedom everywhere I go. I trust that in this ceremony, I will transcend the fears that are distracting me from creating my purpose. I am awakening to the Creator within. I trust and love my process."
With Bufo, the intention should always be rooted in your desire for self-discovery and truth.
The intention itself can be as simple as:
A strong intention can only come from a sincere heart. And a sincere heart is heard in stillness and simplicity. Therefore, my ceremonies are as simple as I am myself, to support you in connecting to your sincerest intention.
The intention must be stated and felt as a prompt. This isn't a prayer. You must be affirmative when finding your intention. And you must state it as, "it is so."
Rest assured, I am fully aware that it is the bufo doing all the work; I am simply providing you the medicine and holding a safe space for you to experience the best three minutes of your life. This does not make me a shaman.
Be aware of those who put on a show for your ceremony and who come with spiritual titles. They do not have your best interest in mind. Nor are they humble enough to have patience, understanding, and compassion for your process. They don't care about your process as much as they care about the show they put on for you... because that's what they see adds monetary value.
What I offer that most facilitators won't is my practical tools, my unbiased perception, and my undivided attention for your process and integration. Even before your ceremony, after we have connected and talked, you will feel seen, heard, and supported. Because that is where true reverence and respect for the medicine and for your process begin. This is love.

Integration with Bufo, is by far one of the easiest of all psychedelics. I mean BY FAR! Of course, this is only a personal opinion of a dedicated psychonaut that has consumed enough Ayahuasca to drown a massive giant, and who journies on psychedelics as often as Christians go to church... so what would I know?
Perhaps it's because Bufo is pretty straightforward. It leaves no room for confusion or doubt. I can only assume it's because the experience isn't a very visual one. Visuals can be very distracting, especially for a new psychonaut. They become very easily confused by them, thinking they hold some significant meaning. They do not.
But since Bufo is an experience of consciousness itself, the journey is very clear for this reason. You're experiencing the truth from every atom of your being, rather than seeing snippets of it as an observer. Like on a journey with mushrooms, LSD, or mescaline, the length of the trip and the visuals are what make integration more difficult.

Out of roughly 50 bufo ceremonies that I've had the honor of serving in the last two years, and out of the countless ceremonies I've seen and heard in the last decade, almost all of them have benefited tremendously from this medicine. This is not an opinion. These are real testimonies.
But if you don't create a practice rooted in this awareness, you will quickly forget your new realizations. So, how do we create practicality out of this awareness?
This is a lot simpler than you might want it to be. The key here, is to not overcomplicate it.
After an experience like Bufo, your awareness will be of God. Meaning, you will know that you are Love, created by Love, with love, in love. That everything exists because of love. And that everything is love.
It's hard to explain this any simpler. And to a person who hasn't had their own experience, this might sound like nonsense. However, I have yet to meet someone with experience who would disagree.
Because we have all experienced that undeniable Love, Peace, Joy, and Oneness on bufo, and we have all realized the same thing.
Even if you don't realize that you are the Divine Creator walking in flesh with no separation... You will realize that everything in the universe is Love, Oneness, and Perfection. It's just impossible not to experience this with bufo.
There are infinite ways to make this practical in your everyday life. The basis of the practice itself is noticing where your attention is every possible moment.
Because you are Love, and you have recently just experienced yourself as that, you will want to be present. This doesn't mean to be aware of every little thing happening around you. No, that's not possible. Instead, this is being aware of what is happening in your own mind and body, and noticing your inner happenings in response to what reality throws at you.
The first two weeks or so after bufo, it will be fairly easy to catch yourself in thought. The most important part is what you do with that attention afterwards.
Once you catch your mind rummaging through old stories or future anxieties, the practice is to bring your attention to your breath. Is it light or heavy? Don't attach, simply observe. Scan your body, from top to bottom. Notice your posture. You will immediately want to correct yourself if you're slouching.

After you've gotten the hang of it, catching yourself in thought and redirecting your attention to your inner world, then you can add on top of this practice anyway you see fit. For example :
I am standing, washing dishes. I notice my mind is on a conversation that happened two days ago. I realize this because sitting in this thought isn't making me feel good. I smile, because I caught myself in thought. This is good, regardless of the thought.
I release through the mouth, with a slow and gentle "haaa" sound. And immediate relaxation follows. I remind myself that everything in the past happened exactly as needed to bring me to this moment now. I give gratitude for this awareness and send love in the direction of the thought that came and left.
I continue washing dishes, simply smiling now. Because what a blessing it is to have hands that can cook and clean. And what a cool thing to be able to do in this game. Insane how real the water feels on my hands.

I don't judge myself for having this thought. Instead, I praise myself for noticing. I close my eyes and softly inhale through the nose, bringing my attention inward, still smiling. Because what a blessing it is to be alive. I feel the breath fill every microgram of my body.
Now I state my affirmation rooted in this awareness. "Because I am God, I know that I am always guided. Everything is always taken care of for me. I am loved and protected. I have nothing to worry about. I am loved."
Now, I notice my shoulders are getting tense again. I engage my core and correct my posture, and relax my shoulders away from my ears. I then shift into breathwork. Slowly inhaling on the count of 4, pausing and exhaling to the count of 7.
I finish washing dishes with no thoughts, just counting and breathing. And still smiling, because now the kitchen is clean and the sun is shining. I feel so alive, and have every reason to be joyful.
Another few minutes go by as I sulk in my victim mentality, but then I catch myself. I stop walking for a moment and say out loud,
I marvel at how quickly the affirmations settle into my body. The instant peace that spreads across my nervous system is undeniable. I smile at myself for recognizing the pattern.
I decide to go for a walk. I feel a sharp shooting pain coming from my psoas and lower back. I wince, and instantly, negative thoughts flood my mind.
The pain is a signal for me to snap back into perfect faith, that everything is actually exactly as it should be, and to stop any negative thoughts from lowering my vibration.
"Your autoimmune condition is getting worse. You're going to need a wheelchair by next month. You're fucking dying, Lana!" I can be quite dramatic in my self-talk.
"Because every atom of my body is in perfect health and vibration, therefore. I am in perfect health and vibration. This is the truth; it cannot be any other way."
And as I begin to walk again, I remind myself to engage my core, roll my shoulders down away from my ears, and relax my facial muscles. I walk intentionally observing my inner state of being and my external surroundings.
Every few minutes, I redirect my attention to my breath. Then the sensations in my body. Then again, remind myself to engage my core and lengthen my spine as I walk for the next hour, stating different affirmations every ten minutes depending on the provoking thought.
The practice is to catch yourself in thought and to redirect your attention back on what is in your control. Your breath, your body. What is the truth that you actually know? Bring it back to the one constant truth that never changes: You are not separate from God; you are God. Build ontop of this foundation with powerful affirmations.
This is a never-ending practice. With time, this practice will become a lifestyle. Though in the beginning it might be difficult, if you're consistent, the changes you will see in your life will be instant.
To receive the full benefits of your Bufo ceremony, you must maintain this practice. Once you stop, you will quickly begin to distance yourself from this awareness, forget the realness of it, and doubt will quickly take over your life again.
